MTCC-Asia joined the "NextGEN" jointly proposed by IMO and MPA
Invited by IMO, MTCC-Asia participated the "NextGEN" initiative jointly proposed by the International Maritime Organization and the Singapore Maritime Port Authority (MPA) in September 2020. The initiative aims to facilitate information sharing on decarbonization initiatives between many stakeholders and establish important networks and platforms for collaboration.

IMO and MTCC-Asia successfully held an online seminar on Maritime Energy Efficiency technologies on June 21. This series of seminars was carried out in an online way. Maritime technology cooperation centers around the world were invited at different times. With more than 100 Asian participants from maritime authorities and shipping companies attended.
MTCC-Asia joined IMO GHG-SMART Programme
MTCC-Asia was invited to participate in the GHG-SMART Programme meeting on June 7, 2021. It was attended by the head of MTCC-Asia Ruan Wei, deputy head Wang Yingming, and technical officer Zhou Feng.

MTCC-Asia Seminar on Pilot Projects Held
On March 21st-22nd, MTCC-Asia, funded by EU and implemented by IMO, successfully held the annual technical seminar on Pilot Project on “uptake of ship energy efficient technologies and operations by using trim optimization” and Pilot Project on “fuel consumption data collection and reporting” in the city office in Shanghai.

On 31 October 2018, two technical officials from MTCC-Asia visited the bulk carrier, M.V. CHANG MING YANG during its calling at the port of Cao Feidian in Hei Bei province of China. M.V. CHANG MING YANG operated by Tianjin Dongjiang Shipping Co., Ltd. is one of demonstration ships that supports MTCC-Asia to implement two pilot projects, i.e. uptake of ship energy efficiency technologies
MTCC-Asia innovatively uses BeiDou Navigation Satellite System for ship fuel consumption data collection
Under the collaboration with the COSCO Shipping Tankers (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., MTCC-Asia technical staff installed the updated version of E-system of Voluntary Ship Fuel Consumption Data Collection on board an oil tanker and successfully collected the ship fuel consumption data onshore by using this E-system.
