Recently, IMO MTCC-Asia Head Ran Wei led visited COSCO Shipping Tankers (Shanghai) with the technical department and were warmly welcomed by the company’s deputy GM Xu We. According to the COSCO Shipping Tankers (Shanghai) and MTCC-Asia cooperation plan, both partis are working together in implemeting the two pilot projects, that is, ship fuel consumption data collection and uptake of ship energy efficiency onboard oil tankers. These two projects are the important deployment within the overall GMN framework. MTCC-Asia is to carry out, aiming to accumulate experiences and provide targeted information input for future implementation by means of share and dessemination among the Asian countries.
COSCO Shipping Tankers (Shanghai) is China’s outstanding large-scale shipping enterprises, with oil tankers and other large oil transport vessels up to 116, LNG transport 16 ships. The company’s fleet capacity of tanker fleets ranks “first of its kind”. The cooperation between the MTCC-asia and COSCO Shipping Tankers (Shanghai) is the alliance between enterprise and the research organization, which has fully indicated that China’s shipping enterprises are actively to participate in the international projects, an evdience of the willingness to make positive contribution to the international green shipping.
