IMO and MTCC-Asia successfully held an online seminar on Maritime Energy Efficiency technologies on June 21. This series of seminars was carried out in an online way. Maritime technology cooperation centers around the world were invited at different times. With more than 100 Asian participants from maritime authorities and shipping companies attended.
In order to enter a new implementation stage for IMO's preliminary strategic plan of maritime GHG emission reduction, this seminar firstly gave an opening speech by IMO officers and introduced the latest relevant policies. After that,
Prof. Ruan Wei, the head of MTCC-Asia together with technical officer Zhou Feng introduced about the sustainable development of shipping in the Asian region, focusing on the overview of ship energy efficiency technologies in Asian region, barrier analysis, proposed actions/opportunities, and potential co-operations for future.
At the end of the seminar, participants actively joined in the discussions and exchanged solutions with each other, to propose new possibilities for the future development of maritime energy efficiency technologies in Asia.
